Dale! Award

The Dale ! Award is a joint co-development grant created in the framework of the structure partnership launched by EFAD and CAACI (Conferencia de Autoridades Audiovisuales y Cinematográficas de Iberoamérica) in 2016. It is distributed in the framework of the San Sebastian International Film Festival.

The aim of the grant is to encourage collaboration at an earlier stage, increase the number of genuine artistic co-productions and to build a structured partnership between Europe and Latin-America. 

The Dale ! Award is awarded in the framework of the Europe-Latin America Co-Production Forum during the San Sebastian Film Festival, by an international jury composed of one EFAD representative, one CAACI representative and one San Sebastian Film Festival representative. 

Award Regulations

  • Objective: The DALE! Award promotes collaboration between Europe and Latin America in the film industry through a co-development grant for projects involving partners from both regions.
  • Eligibility: Open to projects selected for the Europe-Latin America Co-Production Forum, with emphasis on new partnerships between European and Latin American producers.
  • Recipient Responsibilities: The awarded project must acknowledge the DALE! Award, EFAD, and CAACI in its credits and keep these organizations informed about key project milestones.
  • Selection Process: A jury from CAACI, EFAD, and the San Sebastian Film Festival will select the winner, with the decision being final. The announcement will be made on September 25, 2024.
  • Grant and Payment: The award provides a non-refundable grant of €10,000, payable after submission of a co-production contract and progress report.
