Film Centre of Montenegro

The Film Centre of Montenegro is a public institution, established in 2017 with the aim of improving and developing Montenegrin cinematography. The Film Centre is dedicated to:

  • providing conditions for film production and co-production collaboration;
  • creating conditions for the promotion, presentation, and integration of contemporary film production into regional and international trends; 
  • creating favorable conditions for increasing the number and scale of foreign film shootings in Montenegro;
  • initiating regulations and creating conditions for a stimulating business environment and the development of cinematography;
  • participating in programs of the European Union and the Council of Europe in the field of cinematography, as well as implementing activities arising from membership in European and global associations;
  • creating conditions for collecting earmarked funds for financing cinematography through the film fund;
  • combating illegal distribution and use of cinematographic works;
  • improving measures and activities for the protection of children and youth, gender equality, and respect for the diversity of members of minority and other national communities;
  • carrying out activities to improve complementary industries;
  • forming and maintaining a database of statistical data in the field of cinematography and performing other tasks arising from the established public interest in cinematography, in accordance with this law and the act establishing the Centre. 

The Film Centre is a member of European Film Promotion, the European Audiovisual Observatory, the SEE Cinema Network, Eurimages, and the Film New Europe Initiative.
