Czech Audiovisual Fund

The State Audiovisual Fund was established in 2025 by transforming the State Cinematography Fund, which had existed since 2013, on the basis of the Audiovisual Act . The key document that defines the functioning of the Fund, in addition to the above-mentioned Act, is Statute.

The fund provides audiovisual support and  film incentives .

The Fund supports the entire spectrum of audiovisual activities – primarily audiovisual works themselves at all stages of creation, from the first version of the script to distribution to cinemas or other distribution platforms. It is also aware of the need to support further education of film professionals, the development of film science and publishing activities, film festivals and the technical development of cinemas. The Fund also supports the audiovisual industry thanks to a system of incentives that attract foreign investments worth several billions annually.

For the Fund, support means much more than just distributing financial resources. Effective support requires data and its interpretation, good communication with other institutions, and the ability to defend the interests of Czech audiovisual at home and abroad.

There are two promotional departments within the fund: 

The Czech Film Center promotes and markets Czech audiovisual works locally and aborad. It collaborates with major international film festivals and co-production platforms and utilizes a global network of partners, seeking opportunities for creative exchange between Czech audiovisual makkers and their international counterparts.

The Czech Film Commission promotes the country with its audiovisual infrastructure as one of the world's top destinations for audiovisual production. As a comprehensive resource for filming in the Czech Republic, the commission provides incoming audiovisual makkers with consultation, guidance, and contacts.
